Jermaine Jackson will make an appearance at the Las Vegas International Jewelry Show

MAY 12, 2006 - The Las Vegas International Jewelry Show, set for June 2-5, at Mandalay Bay’s convention center in Las Vegas, is adding a little star power, in jewelry and personality, with an appearance from Jermaine Jackson, a member of the Jackson Five.
The show, which sells only to industry retailers, was created by show president Arnold Duke. The show is expected to attract hundreds of vendors from across the United States and around the globe. It is designed with the trade in mind, including concierge service to help guests find what they need most quickly and a convenient, compact layout that will speed viewing.
Jackson will host a celebrity jewelry contest where attendees have a chance to match celebrity jewelry pieces by Tiffany, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and others with their celebrity owners. The 50 celebrities whose jewelry is in the collection include: Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Jackie Kennedy, Elvis, and Elton John. Any retailer that correctly matches the celebrities to its jewelry pieces will be allowed to borrow a celebrity jewelry collection for a one week in-store promotion.
Duke also said the show will include a $1 million worth of gold one-ounce American Eagle coins being sold for $25 under the spot price and an area where watches, such as Cartier, Tag Hauer, and Chopard, will be sold at wholesale
“We had two specific goals in creating this show," Duke said. "The first is to provide opportunities to jewelry manufacturers and suppliers who have been unable to participate in the ‘Jewelry Week’ experience. The second was to make it convenient for buyers to see all the offerings without walking miles."
To accomplish the second goal, the show was scaled to make it manageable. Free shuttle bus service will be provided to and from the JCK Show ~ Las Vegas, which is taking place June 3-7. Duke is also providing a unique concierge service called "Speed Shopping" that will allow buyers to be sent directly to the vendors carrying the goods of interest to the jeweler.
“We see the Las Vegas International Jewelry Show as providing retailers an opportunity to shop with exhibitors they have never seen before," he said. “This new jewelry trade show complements the strong showing of the jewelry manufacturers who will be in Las Vegas for Jewelry Week.”
